Research

I work in a broad area of Physics known as Astrophysics. My work has a couple of streams, all having to do with gravity. These are

• Binary white dwarf mergers.
• Electromagnetic transients (“kilonova”) from Binary Neutron star mergers.
• Probing gravity at the extreme using gravitational wave observations.

I’m also extremely curious about the way matter behaves i.e.to explain the properties of matter using quantum field theory. This has been one of the most successful inquiries into nature so far. I’m not involved in any active research in this field. However, I’d love to collaborate on any such research having implications on astrophysics such as constraining the equation of state at supranuclear density.
